Introduction: Connection with nature is an interdisciplinary variable that has been studied across various sciences (such as psychology and environmental science) and across different age groups (such as childhood and adulthood). The present study aimed to investigate the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Connection to Nature Indexin children. Methods:The research method was descriptive with validation. The statistical population was elementary school students in Khorramabad in the spring of 2025, of which 212 were selected using voluntary sampling and responded to the connection to nature indexin children Results:Based on the results of the content validity ratio (CVR) index, two items were eliminated, but the other items were confirmed based on the CVR and content validity index (CVI), and content validity was confirmed. Also, based on the results of confirmatory factor analysis, two items were removed due to weak factor loading, but the other items had acceptable factor loading, and the 4-factor and single-factor structure had a good fit, and the construct validity was confirmed.Reliability was also reported using Cronbach’s alpha and retest coefficients of 0.72 and 0.75, respectively. Also, the t-test for independent groups showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups of girls and boys in terms of connection to nature (p > 0.05). Conclusion:It is recommended that child counselors and psychologists use theconnection to nature index, which has valid Iranian psychometric properties, to obtain more evidence about the correlation of nature connection with other individual and interpersonal constructs and its role in mental health-related outcomes in children.
