Introduction: Adolescence is characterized by significant psychological and social changes that profoundly impact psychological well-being and peer relationships. Schema therapy, as an integrative and effective approach, can assist adolescents in emotional regulation and the enhancement of social interactions. This study examines the efficacy of schema therapy in improving academic engagement and peer relationships among aggressive adolescent students.
Method: This study employed a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population comprised all high school students in Farsan during the 1402-1403 academic year. A sample of 30 students was selected from three schools using multi-stage cluster random sampling and randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group. Data collection instruments included Hudson’s Index of Peer Relations (1992), Fredericks et al.’s Academic Engagement Questionnaire (2002), and the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (1992). Data were analyzed using univariate and multivariate Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA and MANCOVA).
Result: Data analysis indicated that schema therapy had a significant effect on the peer relationships and academic engagement of aggressive students. Significant improvements were observed in both variables within the experimental group (), whereas no such changes were found in the control group.

Conclusions: The findings suggest that schema therapy effectively reduces peer relationship conflicts and increases academic engagement among aggressive high school students. Therefore, implementing schema-based interventions can be a valuable strategy for enhancing the educational and social outcomes of this population.
