Background and Objective: The most important process in childhood and adolescence is learning. In this era, learning disorders like dyslexia may cause school failure, delayed language development, delay in learning new concepts, or delay in performance compared to peers. The purpose of this study was to determine of dyslexia among primary male school students. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that was conducted among 1200 male students in six grades of primary schools from September to November 2013-14 by using the multistage random sampling in Ahvaz-Iran. In addition, dyslexia was assessed by a reading inventory test. The content of reading inventory test consists of 100 words and 4 comprehension questions which were controlled by speech and language specialist carefully. Also, the alpha coefficient of reading inventory test was calculated greater than 0.80. Results: The results showed that 7 percent of students had dyslexia. Highest rate of dyslexia was in the second grade (17 percent) and lowest amount was in the sixth grade (2 percent). Conclusion: According to the findings, the rate of dyslexia among students is high in which it is necessary for doing more screening examinations between school age children.
