Introduction: Thalassemia is one of the most common chronic diseases and causes many adverse effects on the life of the child and parents, especially the mother. Additionally, maternal compatibility can help to cope with these problems and ability to deal with challenges. One of the practical patterns in nursing is Roy Adaption Model. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Roy Adaption Model  on the resilience of mothers of children with thalassemia.
Method: In a clinical trial study at Taleghani Pediatric Hospital of Gonbadkavous, 54 mothers with children with thalassemia were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned into two intervention and control groups. Training was conducted based on the ROY adaptation pattern in 8 sessions in two months. Data were gathered using a Demographic and Connor  Davidson Resiliency QuestionnaireResults: There was no significant difference between the two groups before  intervention (P = 0.14). There was a significant difference in test group before and after the intervention (p <0.01). also after elimination the pre-test effect There was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p <0.01).
Conclusion: education based on Roy Adaption Model  has a positive effect on the resilience of mothers of children with thalassemia, therefore it is recommended that attention be paid to the needs of parents in child care programs. This will increase the mother's resilience to the disadvantages and, consequently, the child. It is suggested that the impact of this model on children is also assessed.
