Introduction: In this era, aggressiveness and risky behaviors during adolescence have caused concern because these two psychological disorders will be the foundation of mental, physical, social, behavioral, and educational problems in people's future. This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of motivational interviews on aggression and high-risk behaviors of teenage girls.
Methods: The research method was a quasi-experimental type of pre-test and post-test with a control group. The statistical population includes all teenage girls, whose age range was 16-18 years, who were studying in Varamin City (Tehran province) high schools in 2023. 24 of them were selected by the available sampling method and were randomly replaced into two test groups (12) and a control group (12). Data collection tools included Bass and Perry's aggression questionnaire and Mohammad Khani's risky behaviors. Then the therapeutic intervention program – motivational interview training was implemented in 8 sessions of 90 minutes weekly for the experimental group and the control group did not receive any psychological intervention during this period. Data analysis was done using univariate covariance analysis and multivariate covariance analysis, data analysis was done using SPSS 27 statistical software.
Result: According to the findings of the research, it can be said that the motivational interview model intervention was effective on both variables of aggression and high-risk behaviors of teenage girls (p<0.05). According to the adjusted averages, it can be concluded that the intervention of the motivational interview model group was able to significantly reduce aggression and also significantly reduce risky behaviors.
